What would happen if people stopped writing journals and letters? Many of things would happen. History could and most likely would be lost. People wouldn't learn from others mistakes. There wouldn't be a lot of movies and other entertaining things about the past. .
"Yesterday we fought a great battle and gained a great victory, for which all the glory is due to god alone.".
Confederate General Tomas "stonewall" Jackson spoke those words. He wrote this letter to tell his wife that they had just won the first southern victory of the war. This battle was known as the Battle of Bull Run. Without this letter, no one perhaps would know the first victory for the south.
"I shall return to my native state and share the miseries of my people; and save in defense, will draw my sword on none." -Robert E. Lee.
If Lee didn't write this in his letter to his son, no one would know how he felt about the civil war. He thought it was useless. The only reason he fought was to defend his home and land. If he didn't write this no one would know that stuff about the famous leader of the Confederate army. Leonardo DeVince was a famous inventor and painter. If he hadn't kept that famous journal of his, then the world today wouldn't have had the ideas for many of the inventions that Leo created as ideas.
People use old journals and letters for history, entertainment, and personal knowledge. There has been many journals and letters that has been used to date battles, fight, controversies, and many more events of the past. If people didn't take the time to write journals and letters back then, then this world today wouldn't have a lot of knowledge of the past. There have been many of famous people that had taken time to write letters and journals to love ones and/or just to document their daily lives. Just image of all the famous quotes and sayings the world would lose if people didn't write back then. The same would happen to the future of mankind if people stop writing today.
