How the greeks affected us today

Each city-state would turn its acropolis into a an architectural treasure. .
Without the Greeks understanding the meaning of perspective and optical illusions when they did we might still not understand it now. Some of our buildings could be lopsided looking from afar. So the Greeks had a great architectural design which is still occasionally used today. .
             Philosophy .
The Greeks believed that the human mind was capable of understanding everything. Sophists, professional teachers, rejected the idea that gods and goddesses influenced human behavior. Three of the greatest sophists who supported this idea were Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. They all stood behind this idea, but none as strong as Socrates who later was killed for presenting this idea to the villagers for this was against their rules.
This affected our world today because if they hadn't of figured out that the gods had nothing to with how we act or how we react to things than we could still be worshiping gods, making sacrifices and believing that they control us today! .
             Drama and Theater .
Plays originated many years ago in Greece. All of the early Greek plays were always tragedies. During theses plays the lead character struggles against fate and or doom. There were many great writers but three of the best were named Aeschylus, Sophocles, and Euripides. Aeschylus wrote 90 great tragedy plays and sadly only seven survived! Also Sophocles served as a general in the Athenian army. Also Euripides, he believed that plays shouldn't be about gods or goddesses so he focused his plays on the qualities of humans. So overall the Greeks plays explored the human condition through theatrical dramas which were fun and exciting to attend. .
Without this earlier on play than what would are plays be like today? Most likely they would be dull and boring. So, because of there early tragedies today are plays are interesting and intense because of there games and skills in acting.
