This book is about a family who lives in Tree Gap. A girl named Winnie Foster is fed up with her family and decides to dun away. It is then that she runs into Tuck. She falls in love with him later on in the story and really the ending is not what you would expect. But there is a secret that Winnie does not know about tuck and his family. Tucks family members are Mae, Jessie, and Miles. The secret about this family nobody knows. Except this man in a yellow suit, He knows what is going on and try's to get the part of the secret for himself. He figured he would be rich. .
Winnie was so frustrated with her mother that she decided that she would run away. And she lived right next to the woods and so that's where she went. She saw the boy (Tuck) drinking water and then she went to get a drink of water but the boy stopped her. She said "But I'm thirsty and I want some water". While I was first reading this I wondered why he didn't let her have some water, then it came clear to me, there was something about the water that no one knew but him and his family. .
Then he took her back to his family in a cabin. That is when she discoveries the secret. If you drink the water, you stay the same age as you are and you live all eternity. They told her how old they all really were and then fainted. She couldn't believe her ears. She then woke up and wondered where she was. She had been inside their house. How strange do you think it would be if you woke up in somebody's house and had no idea how you got there. .
Now, later on in the story, a man in a yellow suit comes up to tuck while he is out walking around in the woods and says he wants some of the water. Tuck is so surprised he goes running back to the cabin to tell everyone about the man. Everyone gets nervous, what if people know about this water, will they come and take it all? Meanwhile, Winnies parents are out looking for her. .
In conclusion, Winnies parents find her and the tucks have to run away.
