Boxing is a controversial issue, which provokes a great deal of debate in society today; with the one argument for boxing to be made illegal and the other that boxing should be accepted as an everyday sport. You may think boxing is a relatively modern sport, well if you did you would be wrong. People fighting each other in a sporting situation started approximately six thousand years ago in Ethiopia where it then stretched to ancient Egypt, and then finally throughout the Mediterranean area became introduced. Even though boxing was not made an Olympic sport until 688 B.C. If you have ever wondered where the boxing ring came from well it was surprisingly invented by the Romans rather than using chalk on the ground to mark off a circle to fight in. From ancient times to modern day life boxing has not adapted much throughout the years, with the basic rule to knock your opponent out to win. .
The rules of boxing are as follows; two men or women have to use their fists above the belt line to knock there opponent out. This may seem juvenile or stupid to some people but others take it very seriously as a sport. The boxers get a break between each round to try and recover what strength and motivation is left in them after having right and low hooks thrown at their bodies, which really is just punishment for the human body.
Many people today disapprove and are against boxing. They feel uncertain as to why people take up the sport and fight there way to get to the top of the boxing world. I will show in this paragraph how boxers are not very well appreciated by their managers and show the legalities for a boxer to kill another boxer in the ring. A large majority of boxers were once young juveniles with the tendency for aggression, who where brought into the sport due to their lack of education and academic qualifications, if there were any. Most are usually introduced through scouts who lead the young minded fighters into believing the golden rule that, the more aggression you show in the ring, the more respect you will get in the boxing community.
