Pulling back the curtains I looked through the dirty windows to see the sun obscured by the dark grey clouds. Within a matter of seconds there was a tremendous downpour battering the windows, leaving me anxious about my chances of getting out onto the sea. .
Lying back in my bed I wondered if there was any chance of me getting onto that speedboat, I could still see it bobbing up and down with the waves. Ever since I had been seven I had wanted to have a go on that speedboat but someone or something had always obscured it from my gaping eyes. Nothing could take that away from me now, the whole purpose of our trip had been to ride on that super fast boat. This day was no exception to the days before it. A huge bolt of disappointment hit me full on and made me feel, miserable as I was told the weather was too bad for us to use that speedboat.
Awoken the next day by the streams of sunlight flowing through the window I was excited at the prospect of what this day held in store for me. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity my uncle awoke and we bundled into the car and made our way to the sea front. Jumping onto the speedboat I was rearing to go. The engine started with a roar and we where off! It was a sensation I had never felt before, the wind rushing at my face, and the speedboat crashing over the waves. .
At the back of the speedboat my uncle was blowing up the ominous black rubber ring when you where on it, it was like a bucking bronco and left you gripping for the handles with all the muscles in your hand. Volunteering myself to ride this inflatable I jumped out of the back of the boat and held on to the rubber ring for dear life. The fear crawled up my body I had never felt so scared in my life I knew the dangers involved and had seen the result of accidents, but the danger excited me.
BANG! The engine had failed. I could sense that this would be the longest day of my life. Looking round I saw they where restarting the engine.
