             The journey from being a child to a painter is a rocky one. Some take one or many titles before finally going with their true calling. Others know exactly what they"ll do, but experiment in other activities.
             Van Gogh was an assistant at an art gallery, where he worked for his uncle. Fluent in a few languages, he became a teacher. He then became a clergymen, but was dismissed for being too altruistic, giving his food and clothing away to an extreme. Then, finally, he became a painter, which is what he is well known for being. (Brooks, pg 1-2).
             Leonardo was more than simply a painter. He scribbled plans for future aircrafts, assault vehicles, even a submarine. He designed machinery, weapons, and dabbled in architecture. He also dissected cadavers and painted them, which became diagrams of the human anatomy. He is considered one of the history's greatest geniuses ahead of his time. (famouspainter.com, pg 1).
             Picasso was more like a traveling bard of art. He went all over the place, especially France, where he had a few lovers that inspired his paintings, many of erotic nature. These lovers also influenced his themes, styles, moods, and especially his use of color. He refined art in his field itself. He, and other artists, aided in the movement of cubism--three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface by means of overlapping planes. (RenoirAuction.com pg, 3-5).
             Religion is expressed in all three's artwork, to a degree. All had some religion weaved into their paintings, whatever their religious preference was. Though, religion was a given with certain situations and eras.
             Once studying theology and taking a shot at being a clergymen, but later on dismissed, van Gogh didn't abandon his religious beliefs just yet. His father was a reverend, and when his father died on March 26, 1885, he painted a picture of a Bible, which is entitled "Still Life.
