Why I Am Proud To Say the Pledge Of Allegiance.
As long as I can remember, I've been saying the Pledge of Allegiance with pride. However, as a young adult I"m questioning the support to my country and the Pledge of Allegiance. To tell the truth, I"m not proud to say the Pledge of Allegiance. Here's why.
How can I say that I live in a great country and that I support my government when it's really corrupt? Presidents lying and cheating. Pulling crazy stunts and bribing other countries just to get money to pay back the debts. When I say crazy stunts I mean going to war for no reason. Saying that we need to get the leader of a country under control is no excuse. Doesn't it say in the Constitution that we wont get into other country's affairs? Another stunt that I"m talking about is turning off the power in other states just to gain money. This government is corrupt and if people are to blind to see that then there is something wrong with the whole country. .
When I say the Pledge of Allegiance it means that I"m swearing my Allegiance for my government. I can't swear my allegiance on my government when it's corrupt. However living in a country that's free is a privilege and not something to take for granted I feel that the adults running our government are working to become more powerful and self-righteous that they are overlooking the basic needs of the American people. They need to look at the homeless and the poverty level of this country before sending our resources to countries. After reading my reasons for not being proud to say the Pledge of Allegiance, you will start to understand too. .
