At the global level, since 1950, the portion of the world's population living in poor countries grew by 250 percent. Today, 80 percent of the world's population controls only 20 percent of the world's wealth. The ratio of average income of the richest country in the world to that of the poorest has risen from 9 to 1 at the end of the nineteenth century to at least 60 to 1 today. Globalization has devastated the economies of many countries, because the institutions that control globalization "organizations like Nike, Microsoft, and Starbucks "do not act out of the best interest of the world, but out of their interest in their own pocketbooks. Money from globalization in fact is not distributed evenly but ends up most in the wealthy populations bank accounts and the results of globalization on the environment from this greed is devastating and almost impossible to recover from. .
Also, Being globalized would mean we would be all be interdependent. While a small portion of the worlds population controls control 80 percent of the worlds resources the other 20 percent of resources would be divided among the other 99% of the worlds population which reached 6 billion people in late 1999. The result of globalization hence is a world where the gap between rich and poor is astronomically increased. While the rich would continue to expand and fight for control of more resources the rest of us would fight over resources not everyone can have and as time continues to go on resources will be expended more and more at the hands of economic leaders. While their pocket books get bigger globalization will place greater pressure on the 3rd world to destroy their environment. Destruction of the environment would result in further draining of resources which are few and far between. Therefore I conclude globalization in real time will only increase the gap between rich and poor and force the poor into an immoral and simply put outright wrong lifestyle.
