Men are Different

""Men are Different"" by Steve Connor.
In '' Men are Different,'' Steve Connor demonstrates that men and women think differently are because of the difference in men and women's brain activity. Human mind is the most distinctive feature that separates us from animals. For many years, the scientists have put a lot of effort on how brain works. They want to find out the reason that women and men think differently in terms of brain activity. In addition, the psychologists have designed a variety of tests to assess the mental performance between men and women. The findings are very interesting. Generally, women are good at perceptual speed skills, which are communication and simple calculating skills, while men are good at target-directed motor skills such as imaging a three-dimensional object and solving mathematical problems that involves reasoning. However, some people argue that these differences are due to the influence of their parents. Therefore, Connor defends his point saying that even a three-year boy has better motor skills than the girl does in the same age. A professor named Doreen Kimura who says the part that associate with speaking in men and women's brain are different. Men use the left part of the brain while women use the front part of the brain. Furthermore, a research team from Yale University did a research on recognizing emotions in people's face. They found out that women are better at determining the emotions. Professor Gur, a neurophysiologist says it is because men and women use different parts of their brain when they deal with the emotions. Men use the temporal limbic region and women use the cingulate region of the brain. In spite of brain difference between men and women, they have different roles in the society since the evolution begins, but our brain gives us the power to be free from our evolutionary history of the sexual stereotype life.
