             One day your sky diving out of a plane miles from the ground, it's a job you chose to do, but how did you get there? Where did you obtain your values and the knowledge to make the decisions you make today, school. Today your friends, classmates and children are being randomly tested for drugs in school, is the power to test minors in schools a good decision or something that may traumatically impact there lives in changing ways.
             First it is against the law for minors in the U.S. to be in use and possession of drugs, however these things may still be easily obtained by any person. You debate says "The main purpose of random school drug testing is not to catch kids using drugs, it to keep them from ever using them. Once their using drugs it's harder for them to break their addiction. With many employers drug testing its very important for a kid's future not to use drugs. Drug use is responsible for many crimes. It's worth the inconvenience for all our future."(You debate) when the futures of students are at risk testing is a good idea, but what happens to students who are found guilty of drug use, "It is important to understand that the goal of school-based drug testing is not to punish students who use drugs."says(White House drug policy) this means the student must receive some type of help or treatment not be sent out onto the streets where they may cause trouble. .
             Who exactly is being tested for drugs? "Many schools began testing students who participated in sports or extracurricular activities after the U.S. Supreme Court permitted the screenings as a means to curb alcohol and other drug use among adolescents."(Join together) After School programs are designed to keep kids safe and off drugs. Are the participating students being tested as a test to check and see if these programs are working? What about the other thousands of students who only attend classes. What do school employees think, "This committee felt very strongly that we shouldn't hold our students to a standard that we don't hold our employees to.
