Romeos cry is in desperation and frustration due to his misfortune in having to kill his wife's cousin and getting himself banished. Romeo blames his misfortune whereas Mercutio in his dying speech curses the two families rather than a larger force. His curse will soon come to fruition on both houses. .
Shakespeare enforces a belief of the times that too much love makes a man lose his manliness, this being echoed by Romeo at the death of Mercutio.
Romeo's killing of Tybalt was carried out in the heat of the moment and had he the time to ponder the situation he may have acted differently. Romeo's action has threatened the public order of Verona and the Prince has no alternative but to act decisively. Unbeknown to him, his action is aimed at thwarting the love of Romeo and Juliet. The danger now for Romeo in continuing to meet Juliet is increased because he has to avoid the authorities as well as the Capulets. .
COMPARING THE CHARACTERS.
The frame of mind and conversation between Mercutio and Benvolio scurrying noise. This is at the beginning of Act 3 Scene 1 when Benvolio and Mercutio is somewhere fair away from the gang of Montague's.
Benvolio: I pray thee, good Mercutio, let's retire.
The day is hot, The Capulets are abroad.
And if we meet we shall not scape a brawl.
It is hurry up and swift moving tone that Benvolio says because Mercutio and himself are so far gone from their Friends. Benvolio tells him "Lets retire" "The Capulets are abroad" and Benvolio does not want to miss a fight between the Montague's and the Capulets so he is trying to hurry up Mercutio.
In Baz Luhrmanns film when Tybalt enters the scene with his Capulet friends in his blue car and says to the Montague's which are taking in the heat of the sun on the chairs.
"Gentlemen, good e"en. A word with one of you.".
When Tybalt says that Mercutio (Romeos best Friend) makes a joke out of Mercutio by saying .
