Divisoria is known being the busiest shopping oasis of the metro. Aside from the different goods and products that you could buy here, the cheapest of all is also definitely here. When people come here, usually others are really concerned with their shopping, but in deeper analysis: where do all these cheap goods come from? And why are they priced that way? According to some sales people whom we asked, others said they came from Hongkong or in Taiwan. We have nothing against importing goods from different countries and are sold here in the Philippines, but some of these bargains are products of smuggling.

And what we are trying to say here is that if the government does not do anything about this smuggling issue in the country, a lot more business people will continue to do the same. Because certainly there are no strict rules and punishments imposed on this issue, nobody would be threatened. The cycle of smuggling will further be done. And what does this imply? .
The Philippine economy will suffer because in times right now wherein money is very hard to acquire, people then will be pushed in buying what their money could afford. People will settle for less priced commodities rather than those at high prices. And as we know, this smuggled goods do not have taxes, thus the government doesn't get any money from these goods which are illegally imported in the country. If this smuggling of goods be ended, the Filipino business will reign again. The problem lies as to when the government will start this task.
