Remember the Titans

Herman Boone got the position of Head Coach at Williams High School because it was going to be the first school for both black and whites. The school board had to give him the job in order to make things fair since all head coaches were white at the time. No one really wanted coach Boone because he was black, but there was nothing they could do to change the situation. The community was not happy at all. They hated the fact that their kids had to be under a black man. The African American community felt good because they were finally beginning to treat them equally. They felt that they now had a voice. When the football team won the regional division and the state title the people realized that a black man can do the same thing as the white man. A lot of people put aside the racism and gave coach Boone credit for what he had done. If it was not for him and his coaching skills the team wouldn't of gone that far. They had to thank for doing a good job and for uniting the team leaving aside races. .
             2. Coach Boone and Coach Yoast are the complete opposite when they first meet. They both have different ideas on how the team should be coached and how hard the players should train. Coach Yoast does not like Coach Boone because he took his job, but he decides to work with him for the players" sake. Coach Boone earns Coach Yoast respect by allowing him to be an important part of the team. He also sees that Boone just wants the best for the team and is determined to win and play the right way no matter how hard it might be. He also realizes how hard it is for Boone since no one likes him and everyone is trying to find ways to put him down. No matter what people do Coach Boone doesn't give up. .
             3. The tension between the white and black team players is really bad. They can't stand each other. They continue to separate each other. Its as if its blacks against whites when in reality they form one single team.
