Students who work while going to school face problems.

For many students, jobs outside of school provide valuable rewards: extra money and independence. However, these advantages come with a price. Some feel that price is too high. Students who work while going to school face problems at school, at work, and at home. .
While going to school, some students find it difficult to finish homework and to keep their grades up. While working, students become more disciplined on the job; making sure to get everything done for school becomes more chaotic. Extensions and extra time to finish assignments or projects can be approved once or even twice but teachers and professors can become frustrated with the student's lack of promptness. .
Besides responsibilities at school, when considering student employment, a job can decrease the number of hours of sleep students need to function. Students who work late at night find it difficult to wake up the next morning for classes, which causes them to skip the class. Unlike school, employers are less likely to tolerate tardiness, extend deadlines or give extensions. Working becomes stressful to the student and frustrating to the employer. .
While a job requires accountability, the most important problem is responsibility at home. While parents might be happy that their children are becoming more independent, household tasks and errands become tedious and forgotten. It also requires increased family cooperation, especially if the student does not yet drive. With a student working, it becomes especially difficult to maintain a "family time," when all family members can spend quality time together.
In conclusion, students who decide to work while attending school cope with problems with their studies, demanding employers and neglected home lives.
