I recently visited a Career Fest held at Concordia University. One of the booths was for a Nuclear Medicine technician. Till then, I had no idea what nuclear medicine was. However, the booth was very informative and provided me with a lot of information. The fact that nuclear medicine degree was awarded by UW Lacrosse made me strongly consider this as a career option.

I remember moving to La Crosse at the age of six and the 5 glorious years my family and I spent there. The beautiful Coon valley, the friendly atmosphere, and the Gunderson Resident housing where my family stayed for almost 4 years. I remember the Mississippi flowing right by the housing, and the bald hill across from our house, where we all used to go sledding. Also visits to the Park across from the UW Lacrosse campus are still fresh in my memory.
The time we spent in Lacrosse was a memorable one indeed on many counts. I remember learning to ride a bike at the age of 8-9 and falling again and again in the process. Other kids at that age were already riding a bike. But you see, riding bikes, tying my shoes, jumping and kicking a ball were all very hard for me. Similarly, writing was a laborious process for me and took me for ever to form words and write. Timed tests also were impossible. Later, through testing and MRI exams we found out that I had Agenesis of Corpus Callosum. Simply put, the two sides of my brain were having a hard time communicating as the nerve bridge between the two sides of the brain was absent. Even at that age, I guess, I knew that if I was determined I will eventually overcome these obstacles. Several falls and nose bleeds later I was riding a bike .
I have always been determined to go to a four year college and have a career and have always worked hard towards that end. .
