I wonder how they know what cheers to call out. Must be physic readers. If people say cheerleaders are perfect, then how can they turn around and criticize them?!.
You think only men can compete and play a real sport?! Title IX allows women to compete in athletics (Education 1). Women can do anything men can do, as far as I see. The only thing some women may lack is strength because we have less muscle mass. Title IX also sets a law that schools cannot criticize female athletes (Tanner 2). People need to be less judgmental and more accepting. We are females. We cannot change our sex, so deal! .
Now here it is, the definition of a Sport: .

According to the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors, cheerleading fits the above definitions, except for the act of competition. It is said that cheerleaders only perform to raise school spirits throughout the crowd, however, I highly disagree with this. What do you think cheerleaders do during the winter season? Better yet, let me tell you. They work their BUTTS off creating a routine, perfecting the routine, sticking stunts, gathering music, and cutting the music to meet no more than 3 minutes long. If the routine exceeds 3 minutes, the team will be disqualified from the competition. They compete against other teams in either class A, B, or C in KVACs, Regionals, and States if they are lucky! Cheerleading can be a competitive sport, just like girls" basketball, soccer, or softball.
