Brownfield Redevelopment

Growing up in an area with so many abandoned steel mills, and other such contaminated sites (brownfields), developing such sites is complicated and very trying, but it brings hope for a community and its economy. Brownfields are everywhere in the US, they used to be the capital industry sites of this country like steel mills and rail yards, but like with everything else, their time came to pass. These sites are now rundown, dilapidated, and often extremely contaminated, and because these sites used to be the center of jobs for many of the communities that they are in, many of those communities never regained themselves economically because of the jobs that were lost. These areas are now usually poverty stricken which is why the US and many support groups are now trying to redevelop these sites and revive these communities. .
In the development process for a site deemed a brownfield, there are many paths a developer (in this case me) can choose, but before a path can be chosen, there are some steps that must be gone through and things that need to be examined. The first step is to know what a brownfield is, and simply it is an abandoned, unused, or underused industrial or commercial property, often laden with contaminants. The next step is figuring out who is going to take on this process, the costs, and all other things that come with this process. After that, getting the proposed site's property is the next step and all other legal jargon in order to be able to go through this process. The step that follows is assessing the land and figuring out what contaminants there are, and other similar things. The next step is coming up with possible plans for development and what kind of materials, or land barriers that are needed. The final step before choosing a path is projecting costs of this process, to see if this brownfield is worth redeveloping. .
             Advantages Versus Disadvantages.
