Sea-floor spreading is the creation of new oceanic crust at mid-ocean ridges and movement of the crust away from the mid-ocean ridges. (Pherson 270).
Sea-floor spreading along the Mid-Atlantic ridge had grown some 3000 km in 70 million years. Africa moved northward about 10 ∘ in latitude, leaving Madagascar split from the mainland and opening up the Gulf of Aden. The rifting along what would be the Red Sea began. The India plate moved three-fourths of the way to Asia continued to rotate clockwise.
Other characteristics of plate tectonic are the plate Boundaries.
The plate boundaries where plates meet clearly are dynamics places. There are three different types of plate boundaries:.
*Divergent boundaries:.
They are characteristic of sea-floor spreading center, where upwelling material from the mantle forms new seafloor, and crustal are spread apart. These are zones of tension. .
*Convergent Boundaries:.
They are characteristic of collision zones, where areas of continental and/or oceanic crust collide. These are zones of compression.
.
Transform Boundaries:.
Occur where plate slide laterally past one anther at right angles to a sea-floor spreading center, neither diverging, and usually with volcanic eruptions. one example is the San Andres Fault. .

2.-The 4 different types of Earthquake Faults:.
Normal: A normal fault drops rock on one side of the fault down relative to the other side. .
Reverse: Along a reverse fault one rocky block is pushed up relative to rock on the other side.
