This story had its ups and downs throughout the story. There are twelve jurors trying to decide if the boy is guilty or non-guilty. There are jurors that won't change there mind and there are those that try to make it a real case. Also, trying to make it a good case, one juror will start the non- guilty side. There are a couple jurors that won't change their mind for certain reasons. There are important props in the story to make the jurors to change their minds.
The climax of the play is when the votes were six to six, six guilty and six guilty. There are six votes not guilty now and there is tension rising throughout this part of the story. "Four: That's six to six. Ten: I"ll tell you something. The crime is being committed right in this room" . Then it starts to rain to cool it down in the room, but then the fan starts to work in the room when they turn on a certain switch in the room where the light turns on. When they start to cool down people start agreeing on things that they never would of.
The resolution in this story in when juror three rips up the picture of his son and when all the votes are non-guilty. When the story ends, juror three realizes that he doesn't have to take his anger out on this kid because of his son. He knows that it's not the boys fault and so then he starts to think about what happened between his son. "Not guilty! [Three walks out of the room, eight glances around quickly and sighs ]" . Juror ten won't change his mind because he's raciest. Then finally at the end he changes his mind because he realized that everything that they were saying about being not guilty was all true. .
The rising action and the falling action in the story are when the votes started to go to non-guilty. The tension was getting really bad until it started to rain and then the fan worked. People were getting angry with each other when they started to change their minds. "Three: All right! Who did it? What idiot changed his vote?" .
