Bowling for columbine

Bowling for Columbine is a documentary about gun control in the U. where Michael Moore establishes himself as the itching powder of a schizophrenic, confused American society, especially after the events of September 11th. .
In Moore's documentary, he seeks out to find the answers to why Americans are haunted by a desire for such high security that pushes them to be surrounded by weapons, and why they insist on firing them at each other. .
Bowling for Columbine portrays Americans as gun crazed people and it is no surprise that in US there is the greatest number of deaths resulting from firearms. The number is around 1100 each year. Whereas in England the number is 38 each year. (The murders in America are also often perpetrated by very young people.).
When something like Columbine happens, people are very quick to find something or someone to blame. Moore wonders about the reasons of such high violence in a country which is said to be the most civilised country in the world. Moore suggests that maybe the reason that Americans are so violent is because of rock music, violent films, history or just simply fear of each other.
However, the truth seems to be that America is just an insanely violent place to live compared to any other place in the world. .
The tone of the film is obviously one of anger and in this film Moore is simply holding a giant mirror up to the US to show them their true reflections and actions. .
