Existence of God

For years, people have pondered on whether God's existence can be proven. One way to look at this would be through the concept of absolute truth. An absolute truth is something that is true for any circumstance, no matter what it may be. The concept of absolute truth can be explained by this traditional parable:.
An elephant was brought to a group of blind men who had never encountered such an animal before. One felt a leg and reported that an elephant is a great living pillar. Another felt the trunk and reported that an elephant is a great snake. Another felt a tusk and reported that an elephant is like a sharp plowshare, and so on. Then they all quarreled together, each claiming that his own account was the truth and therefore all the others false (Absolute Understanding).
What these blind men are experiencing would not be considered an absolute truth because they each perceived the elephant as something different. On the other hand, none of their accounts would be considered false. They are just experiencing the elephant in their own ways. Every single individual will encounter different things in their lifetime, and they will experience different things as well. Because of this, there is no way to say that something is not true or does not exist simply because someone else is unfamiliar with another's idea (Absolute Understanding). This same idea applies to proving the existence of God. No one person has "seen" God, but just because people cannot physically be in contact with God, there is not enough proof that would determine that He does not exist. Nevertheless, it is possible to prove the existence of God, and that His existence can be demonstrated through belief, faith, reason, understanding, and experience. A combination of these methods will provide a generous amount of evidence proving God's existence because God's existence cannot be understood from just one aspect; it must be looked at from other angles.
