Freshman Year

Freshmen year does not significantly differ from last year in the eighth grade. We enjoy much more freedom this year, such as choosing electives and MP period. I set many goals for myself this year. I want to find out the characteristics of the electives in high school. This will help me choose what classes to take in years to come. Another goal that I set is for school to interest me more. My last goal that I set is to maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA. Overall, this year possesses the potential to surpass last year in all aspects. .
The first goal that I set is to maintain a 3.5 GPA. I want to remember homework better than I did last year. This will prevent missed work from decreasing my grade. I should ask questions when I don't understand something in class, such as directions for a specific assignment or a procedure in math. If I am doing bad, then I need to review tests and quizzes that are passed back to see what I need to fix in order to do well next time. One part of this goal consists of sleeping well. I think that if I sleep more, I can listen better in class. This can lead to learning more and obtaining better grades.
Another goal is to get to know the electives that I can choose. One of the classes I take is speech. I like it compared to the other classes, because I find it more natural to talk about something than to type a report on it. I also take Photo. I enjoy Photo because the atmosphere is very lax. We can also choose our own subject matter in our photos. Part of my goal consists of talking to friends and other people to see what other electives are like. This will give me a better picture of what to chose in future years. .
The last goal that I set for myself this year is for school to interest me more. Last year in English all of our books were assigned to us. Maybe if we can pick out books to read for English this year instead of having certain books assigned, the work will be more interesting.
