Fashion Tips

Of course the natural neutrals of cream, white, and grey are always in style. .
I am really excited about what the impact of all this colour will do for our spirits. I know it's going to feel fresh and positive, and how great is that for the new millennium? .
A: Fashion is all over the map for this season, strongly reflecting our life and times. Most of us are leading pretty fragmented existences these days: There always seems to be so much going on. It's nice to know designers are out there to cater to every occasion, and all our moods. The big challenge now is to be our own editors, and remain true to ourselves. With all the great options available, there'll be no excuses for fashion victims for Spring/Summer 2001. Here are some of my must-haves for the season: .
             Patent.
White, black, or neon, patent leather has a way of looking retro and modern at the same time. And that'll be the spirit of the season. .
             Black & white.
As a backlash to all that color we've been dabbling in, black and white have never been stronger, especially together. .
             Brown.
Every few years, brown makes a comeback. And this spring, Ralph Lauren tells me, we'll be having some very "brown" moments. It's especially appealing in rich tan, and creamy beige leather. And chestnut is the ultimate. .
             Skinny pants.
While palazzo pants did surface in a few collections, the favourite line is long and lean. Very lean. Hit that treadmill, honey. .
             The military look.
Looks like we've been given marching orders to indulge in a little structure this season, after all the free-form flow of seasons past. Militaristic suits are making big news, with plenty of pockets - and don't forget the epaulettes. .
             Stripes.
One of the strongest trends around, stripes surface in everything from seersucker to sequins. Time to straighten up, and walk the line. .
             Belts.
The bigger, the better. Whether they're made of leather or metal links, tie or buckle, big belts will be one of the strongest accessories around next spring.
