My Sabbath

The Sabbath is a symbol of Creation, Redemption, and Liberation from sin. God memorialized his creation by making the Sabbath day holy (the seventh day).
The Sabbath day is a very sacred day for my family and I. Every time we celebrate this holy day, it reminds us of the love that God has for us. There are so many people in this world with their own understanding and beliefs of the meaning of the Sabbath. The Sabbath can be worshiped in many ways. I am a Seventh day Adventist believer. My family and I start from sundown on Friday evening, until sundown on Saturday evening. We prepare a Sabbath meal a day before, and our church clothes are pressed on Friday before the sun goes down. Most believers go to church every weekend, and there are some that are too sick or disabled, and prefers to worship from home. There are even some that just don't believe in the Sabbath at all.
Some may be able to relate to the poem entitled " Some keep the Sabbath going to church". As I have mentioned before everyone have their own views on how the Sabbath should be kept. The author of this poem describes his Sabbath as being quiet and peaceful at home on his orchard. While others are dressed in their "Sunday best", he can be comfortably dressed in the privacy of his own home. Instead of going to church to fellowship with other members, and hear the preaching of the pastor, he prefers to stay at home and study his bible and create a stronger and personal relationship with his savior. Although many may have their own understanding, I believe that if we combine all of the thoughts and teachings on this subject, we would come up to one great conclusion. No matter how we personally decide to keep the Sabbath, God wants us to honor the Sabbath, and keep it holy.
