The Watcher

 

            The story of this novel is set on a beach that is no different that any beach in the world. Margaret (the watcher) goes to the beach everyday and sits on the dock watching what is going on around her. Even though she sees something different happening everyday, she does not want to become a part of those things. All she does is write a fairy tail in her notebook about what happens at the beach everyday. By writing fairy tails she tries to reflect her own life in a small story in which all her hopes become true.
             One day when Margaret is at the beach she notices a boy who's name is Evan, who expresses a deep love for his sister Callie. Evan is visiting the beach with his family. Evan is particularly described as a boy playing with his sister everyday at the beach. Margaret decides to write a fairy tale that includes Evan, and a lifeguard at the beach by the name of Chris. When Margaret begins to write her tale she casts Evan as the Prince Evario, and Chris as a guardian angel. She is also part of the story, and casts herself as an imprisoned girl who's name is Miranda.
             Margaret starts writing the story as soon as she is done observing Chris, and Evan. The story is about her making escapes everyday from a beast. She is helped in the escape by Evario (Evan), and the guardian angel (Chris). As she writes the story she explains that the beast drives her to the beach everyday. She also explains that she is afraid to swim or to talk to anybody at the beach, just because the beast terrifies her. She is just to afraid to do anything but write silently in her notebook.
             Soon everybody at the beach notices Margaret, especially Chris and Evan. Margaret keeps watching them for days and hopes that someday she will have a family like Evan's, and strength like Chris". She thinks that for Chris and Evan everything is perfect: their life, jobs, and families. Evan tries to figure out what is wrong wuth Margaret by also watching her.
