I started my life in an old squirrels nest somewhere deep in the woods. I had 1 other brother and 2 sisters. When I was young I had yellow eyes and brown head although now my eyes are red and my head is black for some reason. My two sisters were much larger then me then and still are today. My brother is dead because of a window he ran into while chasing a Blue jay. A bad habit of my species who live near towns. .
Once I learned to fly, I started hunting alone. First I collected small field mice, but when I honed my skills I moved to other birds, reptiles, and small mammals. I would often have to travel to rural areas and attack birds at bird feeders or near homes. I hate when people get mad at me and stop feeding the birds because then I just have to continue on and find another home to eat at.

My razor sharp talons help me inflict pain. My bill is built to help tear apart flesh which I can do so with ease. My eyes are very efficient in helping with my perception.
The nice thing about being a hawk is I don't have many enemies. I occasionally have to watch out for hunters that decide to shoot at whatever they see. I have lost quite a few friends to loggers too. I even here they put us on a thing called the endangered species list for a little while in some states.
A lot of people get my kind confused for crows because we will still there nests and are roughly the safe size. I don't see how they could confuse us Accipiter Cooperii to any crows but that's just me. I think we are totally different. Our backs are blue gray, and the tail, crossed by several dark bands, have a distinct white band at its tip. We have white breasts and our bellies are crossed by reddish bars. That is how I tell us apart.
Well a couple of weeks ago I had to start making a nest for the Mrs. She helped a little but I had to put most of the twigs and sticks together because their were no other nests to steal.
