             Hammurabi's codes dealt with all areas in society, the rights were often according to one's stature in society. An example "Code 203: If a free-born man strike the body of another free man or equal rank, he shall pay one gold mina. Code 204: If a freed man strike the body of another freed man, he shall pay ten shekels in money. Code 205: if a freed man strike the body of a freed man, his ear shall be cut off." There were laws concerning women's rights, marriage, adoption and adultery. There were laws concerning incest "Code 154: if a man be guilty of incest with his daughter, he shall be driven from the place (exiled). Code 157: If any one be guilty of incest with his mother after his father, both shall be burned." He had laws that dealt with the rights of children and the division of estates in the event of the death of the father and also the mother. There were also laws governing the rights of slaves "Code 175: If a state slave or the slave of a freed man marry the daughter of a free man, and children are born, the master of the slave shall have no right to enslave the children of the free." .
             "The test of the Code falls into three parts, the prologue, written in the language of poetry tells of the call of Hammurabi to be the king of Babylon and to give justice to the people entrusted to his care." "This prologue concludes with Hammurabi's announcement that "when Marduk commissioned me to guide the people, to direct the land, I established law and justice in the language of the land and prospered the people." .
             Moses" dates of birth and death are unknown. it is presumed he lived approximately 3400 years ago. He was chosen by God to deliver the Hebrews from Egypt to the "land of milk and honey. After Moses brought the Hebrews out of Egypt, they arrived in Sinai; Moses went up Mount Sinai and received the Ten Commandments from God. The original tablets were destroyed, when Moses came down from the mountain and found his people worshipping a golden calf he threw the tablets below the mount, burnt the golden calf in the fire and placed the remnants in the water and forced the Israelites to drink it.
