Deceit

From the jilted lover who has based their life around words spoken in love only to realize it was all a lie. To the man that sits on the Jenny Jones' show and finds out that he is not the father of his wife's baby. Deception has become just another part of life. We endure it in all aspects of our lives from the media, our personal relationships and even our own thoughts. We seem to have built an immunity to the sting that comes from deception. To some it may be an escape a way to avoid persecution and or prosecution; for others it might be a personal prison. There is a beauty to deception, a clarity that comes from the realization of being duped-that moment of reality. Deceit, no matter what the reason or the level, it is committed for one purpose to alter the truth. .
There is an old adage that says the heart is deceitful among all things. The vows one takes in life are critical to the character of that individual. To break the bonds of trust is critical to the outcome of ones relationship. Marriage is not the glorified institution it once was. People deceive the person they are to love. Ophelia says to Hamlet, "I was the one more deceived". To be deceived by someone we love and trust causes calluses on our soul. At some point and time everyone has been deceived or will be deceived by someone they cherish. .
Trust was something I have always had a major problem with. I had never really trusted anyone until Mike then after what happened I had vowed never to trust again. Then Joshua came into my life. It was hard at first I was the one who was deceitful. When we moved out together I lied about our finances and where I went. I altered phone conversations and what people said about our relationship. I was deceiver because I did not know if I could trust him. I never realized that how this affected our relationship until he sat me down to talk about it. He held me liable for everything. None of my lies had gone unnoticed by him.
