Thesis: Antibacterial soaps are sued to prevent the spread of harmful bacteria. The use of soaps to cleanse the skin to remove these harmful bacteria which can enter the body's immune system can be very much like God wanting us to cleanse the body of sins by accepting God as our Savior, thereby cleansing the body of sins much like the antibacterial soap is used to cleanse the body and skin of germs and bacteria. You will be able to see firsthand through the use of Petri Dishes which antibacterial soap kills the most bacteria. .
Bacteria are a one-celled organism and are one of the smallest living things in the world. Bacteria come from and are directly infected by viruses known as bacteriophages. Most bacteriophages enter and kill the host bacteria cell. (World Book Encyclopedia) .
"Bacteria can measure from about 0.3-0.2 microns in diameter which can only be seen thru a microscope. One micron equals 0.001 millimeter or 1/25400 inch. An intact bacterium can kill eventually kill a person if left untreated or make the sickness of a person much worse". (World Book Encyclopedia) .
An antibiotic is any substance produced by a microorganism which harms or kills another microorganism. But, antibiotics do not harm or kill viruses. Sometimes doctors prescribe antibiotics to prevent you from acquiring a bacterial infection. In some cases when you"re too ill, there may be nothing you can do about it. About 90% of all medicine used today is isolated from bacteria. Some bacterium and fungi live in the wild if they can find something that removes or drastically "slows down" the competition for available nutrients. (Encarta).
Cells also make up bacteria. Cells are made up of a few things such as cytoplasm, nucleus, membrane, and ribosome. These things are mostly in bacteria. (The Life of a Cell).
Chemical compounds used to kill or inhibit the growth of infectious organisms are called antibiotics. Since antibiotics came into general use in the 1950s, they have transformed the patterns of disease and death.
