CONTEMPORARY GYNECOLOGY AND OBSTETRICS DECONSTRUCTION.
Throughout history, women have been struggling for their rights and for their freedom. They have been marginalized and dehumanized by men in the society. Women had to fights for their rights such as voting, education, property, humanity and for a status in the human society. Today when we look around and read the newspaper, we can see that things have been changed for women. Women has achieved a lot since the past. There was a time when women were not allowed in the professional careers. Education was only the right of men, but today, women have been able to gain higher and higher education and has adopted careers such as lawyers, doctors, engeneers and even positions in politics. Does this mean that women has gained equality and are as equal as men today or are we still fighting for our rights? Its true that things have changed for women and we have occupied a status in the society but we are still not equal to men. Everything around us is biased. This bias is, of course, not unique to the western world but is prevalent in all countries throughout the world. The major institutions in almost all countries: religion, the government, big business, and medicine support the notion that women are subordinate to men. Although the degree to which women are subordinated varies greatly, there is no country in the world today that women have equal rights to men or the same access to power and resources. In order to justify this blatant injustice, we are told that our subordinate status is either divinely ordained i.e., it is the will of God, or that it is biologically mandated. We are all familiar with how religion can be used to maintain male power. For example, in the Catholic Church, a major religion in the world, women are not allowed to enter the priesthood .
and thus have no direct access to power in the Church. This, we are told, is the will of God.
