All the nations in Europe at that time were engaged in what today could only be called an arms race. As soon as one nation built a new weapon, all the others followed suit. Two. Alliance System- The building of alliances to strengthen the borders of a country. In theses alliances if one country went to war all the other countries in the alliance were forced to go to war also. Three. Imperialism- The practice of colonizing other lands by large European nations. Four. Nationalism- The feeling of Patriotism in a country that makes it compete with all other counties in the area in all areas. Racism, the belief that one race possesses inherent traits that make that particular race superior, or racial prejudice. Discrimination has always been an issue globally, but in ww1 they used propaganda too get thousands of Africans to fight for what ever country it was the countries did not care if the people live or die it was all about power. The Russian Revolution had different stages that took place. There are so many small things that fit in to the bigger picture it is hard to put where and how the Russian Revolution started and ended. Russia was run backwards compared to all other countries in Western Europe. The peasants working and living conditions were very bad. The government badly wanted to industrialize in urban areas. For the government to do this they needed money, they got this money by taxing the peasantry. In 1905 is the beginning of the revolution was more rioting behavior than revolutionary behavior by the peasantry. But by 1918 the Russian revolution was just ending and the depression was just around the corner. .
In my opinion WW1 was an unnecessary global conflict in which 22 million people needlessly lost their lives. I think that this conflict could have be prevented or stopped in 2 ways.
One if the Serbian leaders had more closely guarded the car that carried Archduke Ferdinand.
