Impact of globalization

The word is out and everywhere you go it has become the gossip amongst all educators and especially those who are in the classroom on a daily bases. You are probably wondering what it is that I am speaking about? What I am talking about is the No Child Left Behind legislation passed by overwhelming members of the United States congress in 2001 and signed into law by President Bush in the year of January 8, 2002. This piece of legislation to my understanding will revolutionarize the Elementary and Secondary education that children in the united state public schools receive. The legislation to my knowledge is built upon a foundation of accountability for improving student achievement and allowing flexibility and giving a more local control. This legislation also will give parents choices that they have not had in previous years. .
What is No child Left Behind? No Child left behind is a law that is aimed to accomplish a greater goal that no society has ever undertaken. The goal that this law is trying to accomplish is to provide a quality of education for all of the students in the United States by the year 2013-2014. According to this legislation, it is vitally important that the students of this great nation be able to read and write on their grade levels. The No Child Left Behind law is a law driven under the assumption that every child regardless of socio-economic, gender, race, ethnicity or disability can learn and deserve to have the opportunity to learn. It is the goal of this law to have all children improve in their academic achievements and at the same time to put a stop on social promotions in the school systems around this nation. .
`In order to accomplish the 100% proficiency goal set by the law, each state is required to make an adequate yearly progress. The adequate yearly progress is a series of performance goals that every school, local education agency and states must meet within a specified time frame.
