Although the truth on a topic is sometimes looked at in a different point of view depending on the person, the truth its self has no meaning when one believes only what he or she wants to believe. For example; in the play The Crucible, by Author Miller the town of Salem wanted to believe that there were witches with out being substantiated. In WWII, Adolph Hitler wanted to believe that the blond, blue-eyed Assyrians were a superior race compared to every body else. .
To begin, the people in Salem believe that there are witches that are living there, and they want to condemn anybody they can. The do not know the truth but still the want people to pay for something that a bunch of teenage girls made up to get out of trouble for dancing and conjuring sprits during the night. Danforth said, "I do think I see some shred of goodness in john proctor. Not enough to weave a banner with but white enough to keep it from such dogs. Give them no tear! Tears pleasure them! Show honor now, show a stony heart and sink them with it." Dan forth wants to believe that John is a witch but has no proof of it. Hale states that "I have seen to many frightful proofs in court, the devil is alive in Salem and we dare not quail to follow where ever the accusing finger points." This states that the court believes that the witch stories are true because they believe where ever the accusing finger points. .
Next, in WWII Hitler wanted to erase everybody but the blond, blue-eyed people of the world. He beloved that they were superior which is not true, but he beloved it and pursued it whipping out over 7 million people. The truth had no meaning to him because he wanted to believe that he was doing right. He beloved that no other race was as perfect as the Assyrians. He was trying to wipe out everybody and what he beloved would have created agonized. Everybody else looked upon the mass killing as an outrage in the world.
