My experience at the holocaust museum was great. I live in the area of the museum and ever since they started building it I could not wait to go there. I actually expected more then what was presented to us. I have heard about other holocaust museums where they actually have shoes, clothes, etc. I was hoping to see some of that. I know that it is new and they don't have everything done so I can't wait to go back and see what else they have. .
My father is Jewish but I was brought up Catholic (mom is Catholic) but I have studied the history of the Holocaust since high school and the museum actually taught me a lot that I did not know before. I read books and heard one survivor talk about it at my high school but I never was able to look as closely as I got to at the museum. We did not spend to much time at everything that was there so next time I will make sure I take more time. It was very sad to see the clippings of dead bodies and little kids. There is nothing happy about that situation. It makes me sick to think that people could treat other human beings like that. .
The holocaust museum honors those who died under persecution of the Nazis during World War II. The museum serves as a constant reminder of the atrocities that took place, memorializing the victims who suffered due to other men's lack of humanity. The detail that they put forth into the museum is outstanding. I felt like I was in a real prison. The re-creation of the Gates of Auschwitz was awesome, it actually was realistic. One thing I did not like was at the end of the hallway there was a big oversized picture of Hitler, I really wanted to just kick him. .

This was a great experience for me and I just wanted to thank you for picking such a great place to go. I don't think nothing would of been as interesting as the Holocaust Museum. This was the best class trip I have ever been on. .
