The foundation of all accomplishments throughout the history of mankind is the motivation of the person or group of people working for the goal. Motivation is defined as a need or desire that energizes and directs behavior. If someone is motivated to get something done, the chances are the task will be completed. This ranges from a child getting good grades on their report card to an employee fulfilling their duties. Certain things are needed for motivation to work in its intended way. The person will have to feel the need to do what has to be done and have some sort of compensation for the effort. People can be motivated by their own personal reasons or by their superiors. People need to be motivated to get work done around the office. .

Motivating People To Succeed.
In The Workplace.
People are fairly simple beings. They go through life with basic needs and wants. If they need or want something, they will do what they can to get it. This brings up the drive-reduction theory. A man might feel the need to provide everything his family could ever want. In order to do this, the man will have to have money. The necessity of money becomes the man's drive in this situation. To fulfill this man's need, he will have to put to use a drive-reducing behavior. In this case, the drive-reducing behavior would be getting a job. All human behavior could be attributed to the pleasure gained when these drive-induced tensions were reduced(Gale Encyclopedia of Psychology, 2001). The man is motivated to work by his need to provide a nice life for his family. A man can also be motivated to work by incentives. Incentives are positive or negative stimuli that lure or repel us. Incentives play a large role in motivating someone to get a certain job or to complete the task at hand. First off, the person has to feel that the job is right for them. Will I make a decent wage? How many hours will I have to work a week? What kind of benefits does this job give me? These are all questions that are necessary in motivating someone to obtain a job.
