             Intelligence is a strong and heavy word. It is misused much in today's conversation. Some people may tell someone that he is very intelligent because he received a good grade on a test, but that is not what intelligence is. Intelligence is the capacity to know and to understand (Gove 1174). It is derived from the Latin word intelligentia, meaning understanding (Barnhart 393). Intelligence is thought of in many different ways. It can be referred to as comprehension, knowledge, aptitude, and many other things (Morehead 294). Intelligence is a gift from God, a learned attribute, or an instant knowledge. .
             Many think of intelligence as a gift from God. Many people pray to be blessed with the gift of intelligence. In the book of Psalm Moses says "Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom" (Barnhill et. al. 689). God does give this wonderful gift of intelligence to each and every person. The gift of intelligence can be .

             Intelligence is also thought of as a learned attribute. Many countries give their citizens the luxuries of going to school. School is where many gain their knowledge. Many people will look for intelligence in any way possible. Leopold Zunz said "An intelligent person will seek knowledge in details before venturing to discourse on great subjects" (Brussell 291). Many people will go to any extent just to reach one's goal. The world offers many opportunities to gain knowledge (Prochner 625).
