Here's a riddle; what are a waste of taxpayers" money, time, energy and resources?.
Time's up: Illegal immigrants not that hard really, is it?.
Now should these people be allowed to settle in Australia, do we really want illegal immigrants representing our populace? Definitely NOT. .
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against LEGAL immigrants, I mean not only are half my friends" families migrants but they themselves increase Australia's population and in turn the economy.
So then what makes them and illegal immigrants so different? The fact is legal immigrants come to Australia through the proper channels; they have paid money to live here and often must wait for months to be accepted. .
Illegal immigrants on the other hand do NOT have a visa, they do not pay money, and they jump the queue thus pushing all the other immigrants down the line of being accepted. .
People say "but they are treated unfairly, being locked up in detention centers day and night", well have they not missed something? These illegal immigrants have broken the law and yet we are spending over $115 on each one, and over $70 million every 9 months for them to be fed, clothed, educated and receive medical checkups. Wow, what a wonderful world we, they live in!.
And as for "freedom fighters" does being ILLEGAL not mean anything to these soft hearted (and often -in my opinion of course- soft headed) people; the ones that we see fighting, screaming, crying or doing whatever other nauseating trick they can think of to attract attention to both themselves and their little self important "quests". .
The truth is we can't have a society respondent to this "emotional blackmail". For how can Australia be expected to uphold its moral standing through its laws, if they are then to be so quickly dismissed on the basis of "poor me". Yes we do have a compassionate society with genuine grounds that we should accept these people but there isn't, and there never shall be, a place for queue jumpers.
