Heroes

 

            
             Heroes are those in your life, which you look up to. A hero is not always famous or has super powers. People have many heroes through life. They come and they go as time passes. A new day brings a new hero and as times change, so does the hero. A hero means many things to many people. For the majority of people a hero is a person who makes a difference with an insignificant action, but yet, it has a tremendous impact in their life.
             In stories, heroes are always strong. They are also loyal and outstanding fighters. Many are willing to risk their lives to save others. Heroes have instincts, which lead them to do actions of good towards other people. Courage is one quality that all heroes should have. Without courage a person would not be able to do much of anything. By the simple fact of giving courage to others to do things, a person might be considered to be a hero. One other aspect of a hero is unselfishness. If a hero does not have this quality, the probability of helping others to do something noble, would not exist at all. Thinking of others before oneself is definitely a positive action. Showing that a person cares for someone else, may be a quality that many people look in a hero. A final quality of hero would be mental strength. Without mental strength, many heroes would break down under the pressure of many situations that are present. Knowing how to handle a situation mentally is more important that handling it physically. Having these qualities can help someone become a hero. For example, Beowulf, an epic hero, carries all of these qualities and other characteristics, which made him a true hero.
             Beowulf is described as a perfect hero. He was strong, an outstanding fighter, and very loyal to those who came into his presence. The story gives example of his great courage and his incredible strength. In the story, when Beowulf went into battle he believed in a fair fight. With his skills and talent he can overcome all.
