Everything You Need to know About Cloning

Cloning is an individual grown from a single somatic cell of its parent and genetically identical to it. (David Masci pg 7) Some people fear cloning will have serious moral consequences. This is incorrect; cloning will bring out many medical advances and will start a new revolution in technology. Cloning will be extremely beneficial to not only Americans but all of mankind and should be legal.
There are many ways in which human cloning is expected to benefit mankind. One area where cloning could benefit is rejuvenation. It may someday be possible to reverse the aging process with all the knowledge learned from cloning. One of the most amazing things learned from cloning might be turning back the time on somebody's life and making them younger. Cloning would enable human beings to copy their cells and have the new ones with the age zero implanted into them when they are older.(Gina Kolata pg 45) This would make them feel as if they were twenty, when there really sixty-five. This would allow humans to live to an age they want, and when they are ready they can choose to die. Human cloning would allow people to essentially live forever. This would eliminate the fear of old age and death. .
Another major benefit is that human cloning technology could be used to reverse heart attacks. Scientists believe that they may be able to treat heart attack victims by taking out their heart cells that are damaged and some of the cells that are healthy. Then by cloning those cells and putting them in the parts where the damaged cells were, it would make a healthy heart.(Lee M. Silver pg 128) This could minimize a lot of deaths in this country since heart disease and heart attacks are one of the main causes of death in the United States. Another possibility with human cloning is the breakthrough with human stem cells. Embryonic stem cells can be made to grow organs or tissues to remake or patch up damaged parts of the body.
