It was developed for a reason, a very good reason. Altogether, the speech was very powerful to me. He appealed to the audience in many ways and was able to get his point across without a problem. His situation, the way he spoke, and what he spoke about moved everyone in that audience and is still moving people today. .
Jimmy V gave a great speech. Every aspect of it was pretty much flawless inside and out. Besides the fact that he did the whole thing on the spot, with no cards, no teleprompter, no nothing, he gave great information, appealed to everyone's emotions and persuaded people to believe in something. He introduced three things people should do with their lives and went into personal detail about each one while introducing them. The conclusion was a very solemn He spoke about his personal goals for the rest of his life, and the legacy that he will try to leave on the world with his foundation for cancer research. But he finished up with an inspiring ending about what the disease will do to him physically, but can never do to him emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. .
Despite certain small errors the introduction and conclusion may have had, it is very hard to neither notice them nor point them out because of the impact the speech had on all of Jimmy V's listeners. He performed the speech without any notes, merely from his own thoughts. He was under great personal duress, even though you could not tell through his demeanor. To have that much courage to say the things he did, along with everything he had done with his life and the emotional impact that each of these had on everyone who knew him and most of who did not, is absolutely more admirable than anything else I have ever witnessed. Jimmy V was a great person, great coach, and a person that should be looked up to for everything that he was. .
