             Education is defined as acquiring knowledge or a skill through a learning process and is largely shaped by educational culture, comprising of the values, beliefs and attitudes the general community holds towards educational objects. Education is inevitably directly influenced by the cultures of the many societies of the world. The group will touch on the difference between the education system in the two major society groups - East and West, before delving deeper into that of the British.
             In the east, people tend to focus on academic results and paper qualifications. Knowledge from books, and more recently the World Wide Web, is the key to success here. Westerners, however, put more emphasis on hands on learning; learning through experience. .
             The British Education System, being designed by Westerners, gives students the space they require to develop in areas of their interests and strengths. It is widely believed that children learn as they play, it is based on this belief that the British Education System is structured. End of Year examinations are not part of this system until pupils reach Year 7, leaving the young, energetic students more time to take part in sports, while learning many life lessons on that journey. .
             Field trips are organized annually for pupils to gain exposure to the world beyond the confines of their school, and the different cultures that exist. For example, in Bangkok Patana International School, which follows the British school system, monthly three day two night horse-riding camps are organized for students.
