In the book I chose there are many different ways to depict the theme I thought summed it up best. My book is the "Black Trillium", a book about three young princesses in a small kingdom coming in to their own. Their kingdom happens to be invaded by their close neighbors the Labornaki through the help of the dark sorcerer Oragastus. Into this tale is wove the amazing theme of each person has their own destiny and each person is responsible for their own. Throughout the tale each princess (Haramis, Anigel, and Kadiya) has to seek their own destiny inevitably seeking their path in the fray. Naturally the girls find their own path in the wandering light and therefore find their own destiny for themselves. All the while fighting for power over their conquered kingdom with their Labornaki invaders and defying the dark sorcerer Oragastus. The reason I think this is the theme of the story is that through each conflict in the story the princesses have to make their own decisions in the story with no help from any outside person's guidance. Though they are given the means to do this they are inevitably made to make their own decisions. Through the story as each princess makes another and more decisions it continually helps reshape the character. This altogether helped me establish the theme of the book. Though this theme may not be the best of many to me it is more important than many themes in other books. This theme represents a true meaning in life signifying what and how decisions will affect your life and ultimately your destiny. That is what I think the true theme of my book is.
