Narration

Working in a nursing center was the best job I ever had. First of all, the pay was very good. For the two years that I worked there I never once started out with minimum wage. On the first day of work I was making $7.50 an hour which is more then some people make after weeks of there dedicated time at work. After the first year i received a pay raise of 2.00 dollars per hour more. Also, when i chose to work weekends there was a pay differnetial that became a bonus. The second positive feature of working in the nursing center would have to be the hours that I chose to work. I was working the night shift, which was very beneficial to me because the pay was better, and so were the patients. During the night shift there were fewer responsibilities, such as feeding the patients breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I did not have the responsibility of worrying about the patients choking on there food, as well as feeding the less unfortunate who couldn't feed themselves. The night shift was only responsible for feeding the patients a light snack if desired , and also adhering to there needs when ever needed throughout the night.working the night shift gave me more time to spend with the patients on a one on one basis. I would have more time to spend with the patients since I had a fewer amount of duties then the morning shift would have had. During the night shift I didn't have to worry about all the different medications the patients rely on as well as the risks that go along with there medications throughout the day. Finally, i loved the people that i worked with. Working in a nursing center brought me in a caring environment where everyone was willing to help each other out, either to get the job done or to comfort you in a situation that you might not have felt comfortable in. Some days you would have the hardship of looking a patient you and or your co workers were close to and by working in this environment there was not one day that went by that i felt uncomfortable because i knew that my co-workers were there supporting and comforting me as i was to them.
