Capital punishment is the highest form of punishment in the United States of America. It involves the infliction of the death penalty on a person who is convicted of serious crimes such as murder, treason, and terrorism. Thirty-eight states in America including, New York, practices this form of punishment which has formed a subject of debate for many years. .
