Life is a gift from god, why waste it? Some people think that they .
have the right to do what ever they want with their life and that there is .
absolutely no one that can stop them. They have the right to think that way, .
but what if they exceed their life to the limit of endangering others. .
Smoking, drinking, and doing drugs are for me the worst habits a man .
can have. Smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol have been legalized for a .
long time now. Some people argue that illicit drugs should be legalized also, .
while others promote war on drugs instead.
Anthony Lewis, a reporter in the New York Times wrote: "Drugs are .
terrible. But it is not drugs that have done the real damage to our society. It .
is the misbegotten effort to use the criminal laws against them. (Paragraph 2).
Legalization of Drugs is based on 4 argumentative points:.
-Taking drugs is an individual's choice.
-Legalizing drugs will mean less government. .
-The drug war is not working; we need to try something else. .
-Legalizing drugs will reduce crime. .
-Legalizing drugs will take the thrill out of drugs and people won't use them.
War on drugs means banning use, possession, and trafficking of drugs .
under the penalty of law. All that is for the sake of the people and the .
country, for a better people and a better country.
Illicit drugs are so dangerous, and might lead to quick fatality; drugs .
mess with ones brain and damage his or her life and the life of others. At an .
interview with Dr Gabriel Nahas, he said: "it is only lately that the .
irrefutable proof of the cellular toxicity of marihuana smoke has been .
established" (Paragraph 2). Then he goes on and talks about his new finding .
and he states: "This new finding is the mechanism by which marihuana and .
THC, its active ingredient, damage the formation of DNA. DNA is the .
substance in the body that carries the genetic code and programs all cell .
functions. Our latest observations relate the damaging effect of marihuana .
