Psychologists have taken different views towards finding causes of behavior in.
There are seven different perspectives that dominate modern .
psychology. The biological, psychodynamic, and cognitive perspectives are .
three views that greatly influence psychological study. Even though these views .
are different approaches of understanding behavior, it's common for .
psychologists to combine some ideas from more than one view to create further .
understanding. In the three examples stated above, there are some similarities .
that prove this method of study.
Psychologists who use the biological perspective understand that any .
phenomenon can be understood through reduction into more specific units. .
Behavior is determined by physical structures and hereditary processes. One .
researcher might also take the psychodynamic approach into consideration .
because similar ideas of human actions also stem from inherited instincts. In a .
psychodynamic view, a researcher might study reactions to frustrations caused .
by unjust authority. This perspective analyzes human aggression in a similar .
approach to the cognitive. This same researcher might also the thoughts people .
experience while witnessing violent acts. The cognitive perspective is the .
dominant view in psychology today. Its views study on a higher mental process .
such as perception or decision making; mostly brain-related activities. This .
method is similar to that of the biological perspective which also focuses on .
brain function and other systems for causes of behavior.
While these three methods are similar, they also focus on behavior from .
different points of view. A biological psychologists main objective is to .
understand behavior at the most precise level of analysis. Most of the .
psychodynamic principles, developed by Sigmund Freud, suggests that behavior .
is often driven by motives outside of conscious awareness. The cognitive .
perspective is unique in that its only partly determined by environmental events .
