The Breakfast Club

There's no one setting a good example for him at home yet he knows he doesn't want to be like his father when he grows up. But everyone in the world just keeps putting him down and though he has a tough skin sometimes people do get to him. For example the jock says to him in the very beginning "You're nobody in this school If you were to disappear no one would even notice." Bender acted like this didn't bother him but he later on he repeats the quote to the jock. If it truly didn't bother him why would he remember it? It's hard to try and better yourself when all anyone keeps telling you is your worthless, you're not important, you're going no where in life etc You start to believe it after a while because it's what the whole rest of the world is telling you that you are.
The best thing anyone can do for you during adolescence is support you in whatever you are into at that point in time. The perfect parent would be parents that let you explore your own identity whether that be through you fashion taste or different job opportunities. Bender believes that Brian who is also known as "the brain" has the perfect home life.
During lunch time everyone put their lunches on the table and Bender went around looking at what everyone had. Everyone's lunch was a reflection of them and their own life. Bender walked over to the brain, sat next to him and said "So what's for lunch." Bender thought Brain had the best home life just because he had a well balanced lunch. Brian had soup, apple juice, and PB&J with the crush cut off.
Brain's home life looks like a WB television series on the outside, but if you take a closer look you can see the strain that's put on Brain by his family. Brian's family expects nothing but the best from him. That's an enormous pressure to have on you, to have to be at the top of your game all the time. When Brain was dropped off at detention we met his mom and his little sister.
