MLK and JFK

"I Have a Dream" was one of the most memorable speeches that I have had the pleasure of listening to. In this speech on August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King had the most unbelievable drive and determination during this speech and even though I didn't hear it in person, he almost made you feel the power and truth in his speech that made it seems live. The speech was definitely a persuasive speech. With his idea that he could change the world if only we would listen and believe. The historical moment could be revealed as he gave his speech in front of the statue of Abraham Lincoln with 200,000 whites and blacks present. My thoughts on the speech could be summed up by saying that it was full of passion, expression, and simply saying what he believed in, which eventually caused his death. .
John F. Kennedy's speech on Jan 20, 1961 was as equally important and passionate as Martin Luther Kings, but it lacked the silky smooth style that Mr. King acquired. John F. Kennedy's speech was his inaugural speech and also had very important features that any good speaker would appreciate. His speech was both Persuasive and Commemorative in the way the he was trying to give hope to the country in times of need. The world was changing and the citizens didn't know how or what to do to fit the changes. The one phrase that comes to mind when I hear John F. Kennedy's name is "don't ask what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. This will forever be stuck in my mind as one of the greatest sayings I've ever heard. .
