Fighting In Europe.
In 1940 the war began, when the English and France began fighting with Germany. The two allies were ready to fight when Germany invaded Belgium to attack France in the least fortified place. Belgium, however tried to defend them selves as in WW1, but this time Germany was too powerful and completely eradicated them. Next was France who fought a desperate and losing war. Their armies were neither trained nor equipped for this new style of war while the Germans were bombing and machine-gunned the refugees, causing further chaos in France. Germany had succeeded again and gained another victory against the allies and brought down France. This battle was important because it showed the greatness of the German tactics and power of their army and how it should not be underestimated. The next important battle is the Battle of Britain, fought between the British, English and Germans. This battle was unique because it was total air combat and they were able to hold off the Germans. This was because the island isolated them from ground attacks and if the Germans did try, England had the greatest navy and was very sufficient on water. Their pilots were also highly trained and had excellent equipment with maneuverable planes that prevented surprise attacks from the Germans. This was a high disadvantage to the Germans because Luftwaffe (Hitler's air force) was not able to dominate and prevented invasion on the English Channel. This was important because this proved the Germans can be defeated and showed their weakness on air combat. The next big invasion is from German to Russia in 1941, it launched a quick army which was able to capture major chunks of Russia very rapidly. It started with the massive big front in the East 2,000 miles long from north to the South.
