What is America? This land that so may call "the land of the free". We have so many distinguished events in the history of America. But what we don't see is the depraved side of these events. The United States has covered up many of its actions, whether is here or overseas. Very few people see the truth behind many of these actions and some refuse to acknowledge them. Instead the lives their lives struggling everyday for that "American Dream". A dream that is only attainable by a very few Americans. A dream that so quickly wilts.
The United States has been an overseer of many countries. Every day looking for a dwelling of their interest. They have, what some would call terrorize, the lives of those they have tried to "help". America is doing to others what it fought against 227 years ago in the Revolutionary War. We have even swelled much larger than the country that once inhabited it. We ourselves have become a powerful force that no other country can contend with. We have created what our forefathers fought against to gain our independence and to let us live in this "land of the free".
This American Dream can either be a reality or a nightmare depending upon the cultural prejudices and availability of freedom. The American Dream is the following: Go to college, get a good job, and finally get your own family. This dream is a life that is only exclusive for only those in North America. We say it is dream because it so rarely comes true. Many Americans do get this opportunity to live this dream. But what about those living everyday working fifteen-hour days just to put bread on the table for their families? What about those in the ghettos, who can't go to college but instead, have to live the rest of their lives toiling to feed their families? This isn't a dream this is just an ongoing nightmare.
You ask what is America? America was the land of the free but know is nothing more than an imperialistic empire.
